Low prices still count with shipping
Swiss import VAT is based on product value including delivery costs. If the VAT amount is below CHF 5, it is generally not invoiced. For most marketplace orders, that means a practical limit of about CHF 62 including shipping.
Carrier handling can be the surprise
When VAT is due, a carrier may also charge for customs clearance. Swiss Post lists CHF 16 for origins outside the EU, plus 3% of goods value, capped at CHF 70. Marketplace logistics may use other carriers or fee models.
Split orders are not a guarantee
Separate parcels may be assessed separately, but declarations, shipping method, and carrier handling can vary. Keep order confirmations and shipping cost details in case the carrier asks for value clarification.
